Electrical installation works for the expansion of the Umicore Battery Materials Poland plant in Radzikowice near Nysa, carried out for Siemens Energy as the general contractor. The scope covered the 20 kV primary circuits in stages W2A and W2B and the extension of the 110 kV GIS switchgear in control building A. The work involved Siemens 8DN8 and 8DA switchgear, GEAFOL transformers and 20 kV cable lines with CONNEX and POLT terminations, completed with post-installation measurements.
Scope
- electrical installation works covering the 20 kV primary circuits, stages W2A and W2B
- extension of the double-busbar 110 kV 8DN8 SF6-insulated switchgear by 3 bays — primary circuit assembly, earthing, SF6 gas works, voltage test and commissioning
- installation of four 20 kV 8DA SF6-insulated switchgear units with a total of 39 bays and rebuilding of 4 bays of the existing 20 kV switchgear
- installation of 23 GEAFOL distribution transformers rated 1.6–2.0 MVA and of an earthing transformer
- installation of 20 kV cable lines with a 185 mm² cross-section using CONNEX and POLT cable terminations, cable sealing systems and control cables, together with post-installation measurements
- replacement of current transformers and cable compartments in the existing switchgear
- extension of the installations in control building A and internal installations of the process buildings together with cable routes
