The project covered the power supply for existing and new buildings at ul. Roosevelta 6/12 in Łódź, carried out for the planned TEAL and SEPHIA retail and service buildings. It started with a survey of the original 1970s power supply system, on the basis of which the cable lines were rebuilt and supply to existing consumers was restored. All work was carried out in line with the BREEAM certification the buildings were applying for.

Scope

  • survey of the original 1970s power supply system, plus design and rebuild of the cable lines with restoration of supply to existing consumers
  • design and construction of a two-storey twin-transformer substation with a total rating of 2 x 1600 kVA, with MV switchgear and LV switchgear
  • construction of a 15 kV MV cable line and 0.4 kV LV cable lines
  • removal of clashes with existing power infrastructure
  • installation of a capacitor bank for reactive power compensation
  • installation and commissioning of a Building Management System (BMS) in the substation
  • design and construction of an 80 kVA generator set, and dismantling of the existing transformer substation

Key parameters

  • Total substation rating: 2 x 1600 kVA
  • MV switchgear: 2-section, 4-bay, with bus coupler bay
  • LV switchgear: 3-section, serving over 40 consumers
  • Generator set: 80 kVA
  • Voltages: 15 kV MV, 0.4 kV LV
